American pop star Taylor Dayne is back with a brand new single called “Dreaming.” It is her first single in three years, and hopefully a full-length album will spawn from this single, generating a slew of new material from Taylor. Her last studio album, Satisfied, was released in 2008, which incidentally came ten years after her previous album, Naked Without You. Please don’t make us wait another ten, Taylor!
“Dreaming” is a dancefloor friendly track that is just begging to be remixed for clubs. It has a retro dance pop sound, and her voice delivers that beautiful voice we’ve been missing on the radio for the past few years. Taylor was recently interviewed by HNGN and described the new single as “an end-of-summer, Indian-summer song, and pop, of course. It’s retro with a little kick in there from the ’70s and Blondie too. It’s a fun track, it’s sexy.”
We last heard from Taylor when her dance smash “Floor On Fire” went Top 10 on the US Dance Club Play Chart. She has had a string of dance hits, and a few powerful ballads, on charts all across the globe. Some of her biggest hits include “Tell It To My Heart,” “Love Will Lead You Back,” “Don’t Rush Me,” “Prove Your Love,” “Beautiful,” and “Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love,” among many others. Word has it that she is re-recording some of her greatest hits and reworking them for old and new fans alike. This sounds exciting!
Take a listen to the new single, and watch the official music video directed by Christopher Ameruoso, below. Enjoy!
